Hailing from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Winterus (originally formed in December, 2009 under the name ‘The Ancient’) released their self-produced and engineered new album, In Carbon Mysticism via Lifeforce Records on April 26th.
In describing the sound of the band, Chris describes the music as able to put people in a trance and explains that this is one of their goals when they go in writing. As far as this album is concerned, Chris discusses the fact that much of the feedback about it has to do with its production, which is more early 90’s production. He also discusses how metal = geekiness to him in a sense.
Why is it so important to Chris that people truly understand USBM? What is wrong with mainstream religion today and and why the choice for the 3 live songs on the album? Metalholic sat down with Chris to discuss all of these things and more last week so check it out!
