Children of Bodom 15th Anniversary Tour
After something of a holiday concert hangover, the party heads back into full tilt in January and February. One of the best tours kicking off 2012 is Children of Bodom, with special guests Eluveitie, Revocation and Threat Signal. A metal feast fit for a king.
Finnish extreme metal master Children of Bodom, which released its seventh studio effort Relentless Reckless Forever last spring, is launching its fifteenth anniversary tour later this month.
The band started out in 1993 as a melodic death metal band, but over the last 15 years has used elements of multiple metals genres, including black, thrash, power, technical and neo-classical. Children of Bodom has also recorded numerous cover songs over the years with impressive results.
Nuclear Blast recording artists Eluveitie and Threat Signal will be along for the tour as well.
Switzerland’s eight-piece folk metal giant Eluveitie will be releasing its fifth studio effort, Helvetios on February 10 in Europe and on February 28 worldwide. Eluveitie combines authentic, traditional Celtic folk music with a modern-styled melodic death metal sound. The band’s next album is expected to be another acoustic album, Evocation II. You can listen to two tracks from the upcoming Helvetios album, “A Rose For Epona” and “Meet The Enemy” here.
Canada’s Threat Signal released its third studio album, a self-titled effort of melodic death metal, in October. The new album, produced by Zeuss (Chimaira, Hatebreed, All That Remains, Born Of Osiris) finds the band returning to a brutish style more in line with its debut album, Under Reprisal.
In between those two band’s will be Relapse recording artists Revocation. The Boston-based extreme metal quartet released its highly acclaimed third album Chaos of Forms this summer.
