Ah, the 80’s and 90’s. A time that brought us the ultimate in hair bands, great concerts and an MTV that actually played music videos and took us for virtual rides on the Sunset Strip. A time that also brought us bands like Warrant. I mean, honestly, who didn’t get “Cherry Pie” or “Heaven” stuck in their head at least once? Since this time, Warrant has continued to release great music. Most of which takes us back to the ‘good old days’ sitting right back at a concert screaming out the words to every song and pumping our fists high in the air.
A couple of decades later, today is certainly no exception as Warrant releases Rockaholic, the follow-up to 2006’s Born Again, the band’s first with new lead singer Robert Mason (formerly of Lynch Mob). The album was released via Frontiers Records on May 17, 2011 (read our review).
Right on the heels of the new release, Metalholic had the chance to talk with one of the bands founding members, Erik Turner, about the bands history, its successes and frustrations and where it is headed today.
We also get a little scoop on some classes Erik took in high school that might surprise you. And have you ever wanted to drink a little Warrant you can now. Listen to the interview to find out how. Delicious!
With gigs coming up alongside Poison, Whitesnake, Skid Row, Cinderella and more, you do NOT want to miss your chance to see these guys live once again!
Be sure and keep up with the band’s tour schedule over at www.warrantrocks.com and make sure to hit a show in your area!
