Athens, Ohio metal merchants, Skeletonwitch remain forever on the road in support of its fourth studio album, Forever Abomination. They made Metalholic’s Top 50 album’s list for 2011, coming in at number 20. The boys are on a roll, and nothing is going to stand in their way. But is all this touring overkill? In manner of speaking, yes. But you’ll have to check out our interview below for the inside joke on that topic.
This week the band re-issued their first two Prosthetic Records recordings, Breathing The Fire and Beyond The Permafrost on colored 180 gram vinyl. They also released a video for the Forever Abomination track, “The Infernal Resurrection”, which can be viewed below.
The band is currently out on tour with their pals in The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile and The Hour of Penance. However with a night off from the tour the guys decided to slip into the sleepy burg of Boise, Idaho to meet up with their friends in Black Tusk for a special one-off show.
I met up with the guys, vocalist Chance Garnette, bassist Evan ‘Loosh’ Linger, new drummer Dustin Boltjes and guitarists Nate ‘N8 Feet Under’ Garnette and Scott “Scunty D’ Hedrick, and managed to pull Evan and Scott aside for a few. They were kind enough to share tales of the road, talk about the new album, social media, the new vinyl re-issues, and more.
