NOLA’s Sludge God Talks Mayhem and more…
Kirk may be one of the most laid back guys in metal. While he is a six string madman on stage, offstage he’s quietly content to go with the flow, even when I butcher his name. Apologies, bro. I won’t happen again.
Windstein is one of the busiest guys you’ll ever wanna meet, whether holding court with Jamey Jasta in Kingdom of Sorrow, Phil Anselmo in Down, or with his own baby, Crowbar.
Fresh off a tour in support of Crowbar‘s Sever The Wicked Hand (eOne Music), Kirk is back on the road with Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta. Mayhem Festival represents Kingdom of Sorrow‘s first full on tour in support of last year’s sophomore album, Behind The Blackest Tears (Relapse).
Kirk took a few minutes to talk about the tour, what’s going on with Down, and who is playing with he and Jamey on the current tour. He even told us they have considered the possibility of throwing a tune from Jamey’s new solo record Jasta (eOne) into the setlist sometime during the tour. While some of the band members may come and go with their own projects (DevilDriver, Toxic Holocaust), Kirk says KOS will not tour without both he and Jamey going forward.
