2015 Six Feet Under interview with Chris Barnes
With a name like Crypt of the Devil, you really can’t go wrong now, can you? Frontman Chris Barnes certainly seems to think so as he is all set to release his eleventh album with his band Six Feet Under; a pretty big feat for something that started out as a side project. The ex-Cannibal Corpse growler teamed up with Phil Hall, Josh Hall and Brandon Ellis from the band Cannabis Corpse for this one, and weird as it may seem, it works.
After recording releasing back to back efforts with Undead and Unborn in 2012 and 2013, respectively, Barnes took more time with Crypt Of The Devil, which is a full-blown aural assault. 2015 also marks the 20th anniversary of the band’s debut album, Haunted, and Barnes departure from Cannibal Corpse.
Gearing up for the release of the new record, Metalholic had a chat with Six Feet Under’s outspoken founder. Barnes discusses Crypt Of The Devil, song-writing, working with Cannabis Corpse, his monstrous vocals, his passion for serial killer stories, death metal scene and much more.
