2016 One-Eyed Doll interview in Knoxville
One-Eyed Doll are a two-piece rock/punk/gothic/metal band from Austin, TX. Lead singer/guitarist Kimberly Freeman has been featured on Metalholic in the past, and just recently she received the second-most votes in Metalholic’s Top 25 Women in Hard Rock and Metal for 2015. She also made Metalholic’s list in 2012.
In addition, she made Revolver Magazine’s list of “Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock” in 2011, 2012, and 2015.
One-Eyed Doll recently made a stop at The Concourse (at The International) in Knoxville, TN, as part of their Visions Tour with Eyes Set To Kill. A couple of talented local acts, Deconbrio and Shallowpoint, opened the show.
Just before the show started, I, along with local artist/actor Roger Gregg, was afforded the opportunity to sit down with Kimberly Freeman and Jason “Junior” Sewell of One-Eyed Doll on their tour bus. What happened next was exciting and enlightening. For over 25 minutes, we chatted about the tour, what’s coming up for One-Eyed Doll in the future, their most recent album Witches, a new collaboration with Eyes Set To Kill on a Depeche Mode song, the tragedy in Kimberly’s life, and much more.
Both band members are very active on social media, interacting with fans on a personal level, which I believe is an integral asset to their huge fanbase. I actually asked them about this in the interview below. If you’re curious about how they are able to perform as a band with only two members, we cover that in the interview below as well.
Both Junior and Kimberly were refreshingly open and honest in the interview, so take a few minutes, kick back, and check out what these rockers had to say!
