Elvenking interview with Damna
When speaking of the evolution of metal bands, there really isn’t another band out there as perfect of an example as Italy’s Elvenking. Their constant progression over the years towards a solid, polished, melodic metal sound proves that they know what it takes to grow. With the release of Era in 2012, fans were impressed worldwide with the newer, highly produced sound the band decided on. With the release of their eighth and newest album, The Pagan Manifesto, Elvenking has only further proven this habit will continue.
Elevenking was founded in 1997 blending elements of folk, power, progressive, symphonic and traditional metal. The sextet features vocalist, Damna, bassist Jakob, drummer Symohn, violinist Lethien, and guitarists Ayden and Rafahel. The group has continued to refine its signature, but with The Pagan Manifesto, also returns a bit to the band’s pagan roots.
This month, Metalholic and Metal Wani staffers Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi and Mattie Jensen were lucky enough to sit down and chat with frontman Damna, to discuss the new album, songwriting, paganism, touring, and the future direction of the band. Listen to the full interview below.
