Black Veil Brides, Hollywood’s new theatrical rock sensation, released their debut full-length record, We Stitch These Wounds, last week to an overwhelming response from fans around the country. The debut sold 10,690 copies in its first week, landing it in the 36th position on the Billboard Top 200 chart, while also reaching the number two spot on the iTunes “Rock” chart in its first day; a humbling and rewarding experience that vocalist, Andy Six, credits to the legions of dedicated Black Veil Brides fans.
“There is no greater feeling then knowing your music affects people, and our fans consistently show the world that Black Veil Brides are a force to be reckoned with. We are an army and we are in this together! We thank everyone who has purchased the record and have helped it to reach #36 on the billboard charts. We love you and I promise we are just getting started!”
We Stitch These Wounds hit stores on July 20th on Standby Records. The debut can be purchased through the Standby webstore at: http://www.districtlines.com/Black-Veil-Brides, or on iTunes. In addition, a special deluxe edition of the album is exclusively for sale at Hot Topic stores nationally. The special packaging features a bonus track as well as an acoustic rendition of the YouTube hit “Knives and Pens”.
The music video for “Perfect Weapon”, which has been viewed more than 1 million times on YouTube since it debuted on June 15th. The song can also be found streaming on the band’s Myspace page, along with another track from the debut, “Never Give In”.
The cover art for We Stitch These Wounds, a beautiful Victorian style painting of Andy Six stitching his infamous “wound”, was created by renowned painter Richard Villa.
Black Veil Brides are currently on the road, headlining the Hot Topic Presents: The Sacred Ceremony tour, which kicked off in San Diego on July 2nd. The month-and-a-half long trek takes the band across North America and back, as they tour in support of the debut album, We Stitch These Wounds.
Delivering songs with lyrics of hope and strength, accompanied by passionate, hook-laden instrumentals, Black Veil Brides took the rock world by the throat with their first single/video, “Knives and Pens” in the summer of 2009. The video has since been viewed more than 13 million times on YouTube.
With a thriving and dedicated following of fans, and a highly trafficked MySpace profile (averaging over 10,000 plays a day, peaking in the 9th spot on MySpace’s Top Music Charts in the ‘Metal’ category), Black Veil Brides stand out as LA’s lone breath of fresh air.
