Black Orchid premieres ‘Good Intentions’ from new album!
Flagstaff, Arizona’s metal miscreants, Black Orchid are about to unleash their fourth slab of brutality on the masses with the new album, “Wake” due out September 6. In celebration of their new release they will be direct support for Hemlock when they play Orpheum Theater in Flagstaff on the album’s release date. This week the band has announced their first single from “Wake” will be the caustic track, “Good Intentions.”
Offers frontman Matt Babcock:
“This album, Wake, reflects a very difficult time in our lives. It expresses the challenges and hardships we have survived over the past few years. In addition to being brutally honest and introspective, Wake is extremely well recorded and proves that Black Orchid will never move in any other direction than forward. After 11 years of perseverance this album leaves Black Orchid proud, humble, and as hungry as ever. The single ‘Good Intentions’ is heavy yet beautiful. Lyrically this song covers loss, regret, hindsight, love, drug use and death. The overall message is for the listener to interpret. Black Orchid is original, heavy, aggressive music that will not disappoint.”

Black Orchid have shaken the southwest hard rock and metal scene since 2002, starting with their self titled debut, then their sophomore release “Confidence in Death” followed by the latest offering, “Where This Life is Leading” (2010) which was produced, engineered and mastered by Whitechapel’s Ben Harclerode. Black Orchid is fronted by Matt Babcock on vocals and bass, Ryan Smith and Steven Haigh on guitars, and Stephen Brannen behind the kit. Beware their Good Intentions!
