Attika 7 interview with Evan Seinfeld
When Polish black metal titans, Behemoth were forced to drop out of the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, show founder John Reese wasted no time tapping SoCal rockers, Attika 7 to fill the void. Despite the short tenure of the band, Attika 7 is no stranger to massive festival touring having spent the summer of 2012 on the Rockstar Energy Uproar Tour.
Attika 7 was founded vocalist Evan Seinfeld (Biohazard) and real son of anarchy, Rusty Coones (guitars). As the duo has tweaked and dialed in the line-up, drummer Tommy Holt (UPO) has set the rhythmic foundation for the band. Former Nonpoint guitarist Zach Broderick has moved over to fill the bottom end on bass. Recently, the guys added guitarist Ira Black (Lizzy Borden, Vicious Rumors) to balance the attack.
Last summer the band released its debut album, “Blood of My Enemies” which Seinfeld says he now plans to release for free. On Day 3 of Mayhem Festival, Metalholic sat down with frontman Seinfeld to chat about all things Attika 7 including the debut record, and when fans can expect new music, including the new songs being performed on the Mayhem tour. Between dueling cellphones and a quick chat with Ollie of Amon Amarth, we managed to get the details on where Seinfeld, Coones and company are headed in 2013 and beyond.
