Boise’s baleful beasts…
Hell hath no fury like Ashes of Abaddon! Prepare for a breath of fresh (if not hot and hellish) air from this Idaho death metal quartet. These guys have rocked stages all over their hometown, and are preparing to release their as yet untitled debut album upon the masses. The band has built a following in the Boise scene almost single-handedly, sharing the stage with the likes of Bison B.C and FightAmp. From building their own studio, to riding the waves of line-up changes, they’ve managed to come out consistently victorious.
Hailing from Fruitland, Idaho, which the group affectionately (or not so affectionately) refers to as “Hell”, the band features lead vocalist and bassist Jesse Wetzel, guitarists Derek Herzberg and Justin Kurth, and drummer Brett Widmer. They are certain to pick up the attention of labels swiftly, as their tight, catchy riffing, growling vocals, and infectious personalities on stage are sure to draw distinct crowds. Fans of Lamb of God and Crowbar will consider Ashes of Abaddon a requirement for their music collections.
Metalholic Radio’s own Sadistic Surgeon recently sat down with the entire band to talk about the upcoming album, and after somewhat of a debate over who actually plays the lead cowbell in the band, were treated to the band’s abundant sense of humor on everything ranging from the zombie apocalypse, to hellfire.
