Are you dying for it? New Arch Enemy? Metalholic is pumped for Khaos Legions, Arch Enemy’s ninth studio album, which will mark a return to new, original material, after releasing the Tyrants Of The Rising Sun – Live In Japan live DVD/CD (2008) and the re-recordings album, The Root Of All Evil (2009). It’s about freaking time!
Last spring lead growler Angela gassow was listed on Metalholic’s Top 20 Most Powerful Women In Metal. Read more about that here, as well as some dirt on the new record.
Century Media has set a May 1st release date (according to their website) for Khaos Legions, though that date could be fluid, mark it on your calendar. This week the band got the Khaos jump started with a kick off show in Germany.
WERMELSKIRCHEN, GERMANY – Swedish extreme heavy metal act, Arch Enemy, has posted photos from the band’s recent showcase in Wermelskirchen, Germany, as the group kicked off the campaign for its forthcoming studio album, Khaos Legions, due out later this year on Century Media Records. The photos from the March 14th gig at the AJZ Bahndamm – a self-governed youth centre which is well-known for its various underground metal, punk and hardcore shows – can be seen on the official Arch Enemy Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/archenemyofficial.
Only 150 die-hard fans and journalists from all over Europe witnessed the worldwide premiere of two new songs from the upcoming album. It was hot, it was sweaty, and it smelled like KHAOS.
Guitarist, Michael Amott, stated, “Normally, an ‘industry’/media show is a quite stiff and slightly boring affair, not so this time! We invited 150 Arch Enemy fans to join us via our Facebook page and voilà – it was ON! We had a blast ripping through the two new songs for the first time on stage, and judging by the crowd reaction – they were feeling it too! A big thanks to all involved; the Century Media crew, AJZ Bahndamm crew, the journalists and of course the amazing fans! This was a perfect start to the KHAOS LEGIONS campaign!”
The set-list from Wermelskirchen was…
TEAR DOWN THE WALLS (INTRO)
YESTERDAY IS DEAD AND GONE (NEW SONG)
NO GODS, NO MASTERS (NEW SONG)
I WILL LIVE AGAIN
DEAD EYES SEE NO FUTURE
DEAD BURY THEIR DEAD
WE WILL RISE
Arch Enemy will also be appearing at Sonisphere this summer along with other European Festival dates. No U.S. dates have yet been announced.
