Allegaeon interviews with Ezra, Greg and Mike
Cue 8 stringed guitars, thought-provoking lyrical themes, classically infused music ideas and death metal. The amalgamation of all these varied elements is what Allegaeon is all about. Formed in 2008, and what people have come to know now as the Colorado Kings of Melodic Metal, Allegaeon are all set to unleash their third studio effort Elements Of The Infinite on this world later this month via Metal Blade Records.
Elements of the Infinite marks the band’s first album without founding guitarist Ryan Glisan and the debut for new guitarist Mike Stancel and drummer Brandon Park. Vocalist Ezra Haynes and guitarist Greg Burgess remain the creative force within the band, and mainstay bassist Corey Archuleta keeps it all rumbling along.
In two separate interviews below, Metalholic editor Rustyn Rose speaks with guitarists Burgess and Stancil while Metal Wani editor and Metalholic staffer, Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi chats with Haynes. All discuss the new record, Glisan’s departure, lyrical approaches, and more. Haynes talks about his strange Skype status and Stancil and Burgess talk about Crabcore, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and give us three albums that changed their lives.
You can listen to both interviews below in full and pick up Elements of the Infinite on June 24.
