All Else Fails interview with Seedy Mitchell
Edmonton, Alberta’s All Else Fail‘s released its newest EP, “Fucktropolis” through Suicidal Bride Records on July 30. It marks the follow-up to their highly successful 2011 album, “The Oracle, What Was, Is And Could Have Been“. Metalholic recently caught up with bassist Seedy Mitchell to talk about the dark and brutal new album.
The band was founded some seven years ago, and features Mitchell, frontman Barrett Klesko, and guitarist Mike Sands. They have been sonically equated to bands as varied as Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Five Finger Death Punch and Lamb of God. Those correlations, while impressive, all miss the mark and do a disservice to the band’s unique sound.
“Fucktropolis” is the band’s fourth release since 2009 and takes what they accomplished with “The Oracle…” to yet more inspired heights of broody aggression. This EP, besides having an excellent name, is darker and more diverse than anything they have done to date. It also marks the recording debut for new drummer, Shayne Tym who makes an impressive and powerful debut.
Mitchell talks about the presence of Tym, and takes us through all five tracks on the new EP. You can listen to the full interview below then get your hands on “Fucktropolis“. You can also check out the new video for the track, “Better Left Undead”.
